A healthy lifestyle and adequate nutrition are essential factors in supporting the growth and development of elementary school-aged children. To address the lack of understanding about balanced nutrition and the importance of maintaining an ideal body weight, an educational activity was conducted at SDN 1 Cikancas. The program included interactive counseling, group discussions, and hands-on practice in calculating Body Mass Index (BMI). The activity aimed to improve students’ knowledge of nutrition, healthy living habits, and their understanding of BMI as an indicator of nutritional status. The implementation followed five systematic stages: initial data collection, measurement of height and weight, BMI calculation and categorization, explanation of results, and brief health education. The results showed increased student comprehension of balanced nutrition, the benefits of physical activity, and how to maintain an ideal weight according to age. Evaluation focused on implementation indicators and success benchmarks, including complete anthropometric data collection, accurate BMI categorization, student engagement, and improved understanding. This activity proved effective, practical, and interactive, providing baseline data for ongoing health monitoring. Although BMI offers only a general overview, the program opens opportunities for broader development through regular follow-up and collaboration with teachers and school health personnel to prevent malnutrition and obesity from an early age.
