Abstract

Qur'anic literacy is a crucial foundation in Islamic education, especially for young children. The ability of children to read, understand, and love the Qur'an needs to be systematically developed through a structured educational program. This article aims to describe the strengthening of Qur'anic literacy in early childhood through a tajwid learning program in Sindanghayu Village, a community facing challenges in building Qur'anic literacy among its children. The program employs a community-based learning approach, where children are not only taught to read the Qur'an according to tajwid rules but are also guided to cultivate discipline, manners, and love for the Qur'an in their daily lives. Through this approach, parents and the local community play an active role in supporting the success of the program. The analysis results indicate that the tajwid learning program in Sindanghayu Village has successfully improved the children's Qur'anic reading and writing skills, strengthened their Islamic character, and helped shape a Qur'anic generation that is knowledgeable and virtuous. This program has had a significant impact on creating positive change within the community and can serve as a model for developing Qur'anic literacy in other regions.
