Abstract

Saving from an early age is important to instill in children as a way to foster discipline, responsibility, and independence. However, many elementary school students still prefer to spend their pocket money rather than set it aside for savings. This Community Service Program (KKN) was conducted at SDN 1 Patapan, targeting fourth-grade students. The community service method was implemented through outreach, delivering material offline or face-to-face, and using creative piggy bank decoration as a medium. The results of the activity showed an increase in student motivation to save, a growth in creativity in piggy bank design, and the development of discipline and responsibility. Furthermore, students expressed joy because they could see the tangible progress of their savings. This activity demonstrated that making piggy banks as a means of cultivating the habit of saving can be an effective and enjoyable strategy for strengthening character education from an early age.
